some sewing

my sewing mojo is back!
had lots of fun making these skirts

simple a-line shaping
and some doodle stitching
that's it

currently working on a testknit for Joji,
her tourist sweater was a love at first sight
and she kindly offered me to test the pattern

while some kind ladies are testknitting the pattern
of driftwood (beach sweater part two)
there is something new on my needles:

a little lace work took a step into my knitting and
i'm very pleased with the outcome of this sweater

bottom up raglan construction
lattice lace pattern for body
plain stockinette for sleeves

it's blocking now, so i can think about
the next project..(hahahaha)

have fun

but they don't work like i hoped ):

and......my sewing mojo is back!!!
made a few dresses to complete my summercollection
no pics yet, but i hope to be able to show them
this week
for now i like to introduce my butterfly dress to you

this turned out sooooo cute!
a bit long after blocking, but i love it just this way

pattern. butterfly dress by Jennie Atkinson
yarn. kid seta col. 108
needles. 4.5 mm and 5mm circulars
2.5 mm hook for straps

did only one hem edging and changed the straps
did 3 single crocheted straps on both sides
think they don't stretch out this way

the white underdress i made this weekend
makes the look perfect

pattern.  no. 20 out of this book

all the best wishes for your next week

back again

had some busy days...
and my little camera died :(
first of all i have to tell that my second owlsister
daniela will give birth to a new family member on friday
unfortunately the little one didn't turn its head downwards
so he/she will be born by caesarean
............
working on a pattern of paulie
seams to be a slow starter, my notes are [as always]
not very helpfull. hope that i could finish this the next week
and search for some kind testers
............

they catch every sunray they can get - everytime and everywhere

and me? i start every knitting project i can - everytime and everywhere

rotation is a sweater worked topdown in the round
with twisted ribs
i changed it into a cardi

my gauge was totally off, so i had to
recalculate all the numbers

needles. 4mm circulars
yarn. soft merino by ICE YARNS

think i can finish it the next days
more notes to follow

.............

proudly presenting the second testknit i do for anke
she invited me to test her new design april in berlin

started yesterday and i think this will be a beauty

yarn. cotton/acrylic
needles. 2.5mm and 3.5mm

............

also working on a tunic for the little one
matching the kitty hat

and.....i finished a second alabama skirt

backstitched reverse appliqué

had to start another skirtproject
.......

first i had to cut the stencil
[it's not included in the book]

not sure about that,.. we'll see how it works

the backstitched technique takes much more time
than the straight stitch variation
and of course much more thread

alabama stitch book

remember this post?
finished the skirt today!!!!
was a lot of work and it was so worth it

i definitely will do this again
it fits perfect and the look is so cooooool
to the next i will add beads....

the coolest [and most time consuming] thing about this
skirt is that it's completely handsewn, no single
machine stitch!!!

crafty roundup

my week wasn't that nice
spend most of my time with averting a disaster
the man i was married to a long, long time ago (seams to be
a long time, but....) has huge financial problems
shouldn't be my problem any more, but unfortunately it is.
he still owns a half of my home; additional i gave him
an absolute suretyship for one of his accounts...
so i spend my week with lawyers, in court, with bankers
and so on.....
nevertheless i had a crafty week, maybe it's because of that disaster that i did all those things...?

first an armchair makeover

mr. rossi loves it

me too,.. in his former life this armchair was nice and white

thought that i need some colour changes and went on
dying the covers...........
total flop!!!!
stains all over..darker, lighter, small and large stains!
so i dived into my fabricstash and
started a total makeover.
and it worked! i'm very pleased with it now

also started some new knitting projects..;))

this will be a striped cardi with garter borders
yarn. fortissima alpaka in gray and trekking pro natura in mustard, both sockyarns i had in my stash
needles. 3 mm (am i mad?, a whole cardi on such small needles?!!)

swatched for another cardi

pattern. forestry by veronik avery,
i did this before and i like my forestry that much that
i'm going for another one
yarn. wollness uni by austermann
needles. 3.5 mm and 4 mm

....................
got a new storage for some part of my sewing stuff

a lunchbox!
so cool!!

have a good day
hopefully my days will get better

isa k.
