once upon a time

it's been a long, long time ago....

18 years to be exact

...a little human being went into my life and has captured my heart from the very first day

today we're celebrating the 18th (yes! the 18th!!!!) birthday
of my little boy

I wish I had some photos here in the current flat
(yes, those photos are "real" photos - we hadn't a digital 
camera 18 years ago!) to show you all this uber cute little boy

I will search for the photo boxes over the weekend and try to upload some of the pics we made in 1995....
but now let me shout out a big 

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAXIMILIAN!!!!!

my little sweetness is back! we found him friday night

right between the new flat and our old house....

nameless joy everywhere!

tigger also missed him so badly,

but now he's back and everything's alright

he had a capital dinner and now he's sleeping all the time ;)

i know for some this might sound weird

and i hardly cannot explain how we felt the last days

cause they are just like our kids...

.....and we are all doing the happy dance here!!!!

a sign of life

there's a reason for me being absent so loooong

....a good reason.....

....a very good reason....

i got married!!!!!!

it was a small but amazing wedding with our families and

some very good friends ....

hope you all understand that there were other things to do

the last weeks,...i promise to post more constant now ;)

now to the knitting life (hahaha!)

currently in testing is a new sweater

and it seams that this time my testversion of the pattern isn't that messy as my testversions usually are, so i hopefully

can publish the pattern in mid/end of april

for today i need to quit (packing my life in boxes still 

goes on), just wanted to let you know that i am still alive

now that those busy days before christmas are over

i just wanted to pop in and say THANK YOU

for all your precious comments
for your encouragement
for staying by my side (though i couldn't keep the promise
of publishing some eagerly-awaited patterns)
for all the help and good advises
for all the gifts (esp. the yarn!!)
for making my life so much brighter every day

hope to have some spare time next year to keep you all updated,
but i think we will be occupied with the renovation
of our little home.....
we need to move over renovation time (for at least half of the next year!)means,... i have to pack my whole life (this is how it feels) into moving boxes!

my first written pattern went online 

oh - i know - full of errors and a little strange

there were ups and downs, but all in one

phew! all those busy, busy days in december!

but all in one this is my favorite time of year...

crafting, knitting, cooking for the ones i love

got this book some time ago

and did my first sock zebra! isn't he lovely?!

cabled cardi for paul

did a little baby knitting 

don't know why this is rare for me?!

those little knits are soooo cute and really fast to do

and it's a pretty good option

to test stitches and yarns

working on a cabled tweed cardigan design

this cute baby garment came to my mind

lined with an old shirt from M.

had to shorten the zipper - was not funny

i never did this before, but i had no suitable

zipper on hand 

in the end all the finishing work took me more

patience than knitting ....

but all of this work is so much worth it:

the next sweater for paul is on the go

will be some kind of a fishermens sweater

the next 4 days we celebrate a wine festival here

we live in a medieval village and all vaulted cellars

are open, many bands are playing and still more wine is flowing.....hihihi

much work, but also a lot of fun

and he has to be up very early in the morning

we had 2 wonderful weeks in marsa alam [egypt]

the most time we spend in or under water

but we took lots of pics, so i can show you

 a little piece of this wonderworld

we also made a 2 day boattrip to the sataya reef

we had so much fun snorkeling with dolphins,

maori wrasses, red sea fusiliers, giant tortoises

and many more......

it's like being on an other planet
