dragonflies to love

i am sooo in love with this design by Joji!!!
couldn't resist casting on a second one (even a third, but it's on hold, due to some testknits i have to finish)

this time i used cascade 220 (for the first time!) and
i think that i fell in love with this yarn too :D
i did k2/p2 ribbings for hems and neck - just for fun
and i think the design works also well with this more sportive
edgings.
casted on for a third one in fingering weight yarn.
we'll see how this goes - will be slow going, of course...
i have too many things to finish the next weeks

also i have a lot to do at work - crafty season is dawning;
i have to prepare my kids craft classes and finish samples for
the shop, to show up the materials we sell.
today i did some uber cute felted acorns...i just luuuuv them
i really need to take some pics to show, maybe one likes them
as much as i do?

aaaand...i dyed some yarn,... yummy yarn!
BFL dk weight in a wonderful shaded grey, can hardly say how
i felt when i took the yarn out of the dyepot... was so excited
about dying this (not cheap!)yarn

but it worked, and i think it worked absolutely fine!!!
there runs a cardi in my mind....but i won't be able to start
a new project now....got toooooo much on my needles:

meridien testknit for Jo (i know i am too late...but i started
4 weeks after the testing group!)
redy in a stunning turquoise! (Anke sent me some wonderful skeins
of mohair!!)
and last bloomsbury testknit for Svetlana (she asked me to test
and what could i say?)

....hopefully all sweaters will be finished next week, meridien only needs a left sleeve, redy also + a half of the right sleeve and bloomsbury needs half of the body and 2 sleeves,... so girl, don't write about knitting - take your needles and knit!!!!

have fun out there

some cute crocheted owls,.....and many more

and last but not least
i'm working on secret testknits for joji

DIY advent wreath

i know it's a bit early for x-mas crafting
especially when it is such a quick and easy project..

but i couldn't resist posting
what i did last night.. :)

a super cute knitted advent wreath

all you need is some bulky yarn
matching needles,
one straw wreath (don't know if this is the right word?!)
tapestry needle,
crepe paper matching the yarns colour
ribbon and some decoration

and here is the how-to:

measure around your straw wreath
to figure out the width of your knitting
you also have to measure, or calculate the circumference
of your wreath

in my case this was about 18 cm in width
and the circumference was 94 cm

make a swatch with your yarn

my yarn knits up to a gauge of 1 st per cm

provisionally co the st amount you need to get the desired width
and begin working in garter st
you will not need to knit to the total length
cause this will stretch out very much

you may want to check the length from time to time
i didn't do that, so i had to ripp back a few rows

now undo the provisional co and graft
the pieces together

you can see that i grafted knitwise
to have some plain space for my ribbon

cut your crepe paper in 7cm straps
and wrap around your wreath

now place the knitted piece on your wreath

and do a simple whipstitchseam
to get your wreath wrapped with your knitted piece

and decorate.....

hope a few like this as much as i do

happy crafting

isa k.

crafty roundup

my week wasn't that nice
spend most of my time with averting a disaster
the man i was married to a long, long time ago (seams to be
a long time, but....) has huge financial problems
shouldn't be my problem any more, but unfortunately it is.
he still owns a half of my home; additional i gave him
an absolute suretyship for one of his accounts...
so i spend my week with lawyers, in court, with bankers
and so on.....
nevertheless i had a crafty week, maybe it's because of that disaster that i did all those things...?

first an armchair makeover

mr. rossi loves it

me too,.. in his former life this armchair was nice and white

thought that i need some colour changes and went on
dying the covers...........
total flop!!!!
stains all over..darker, lighter, small and large stains!
so i dived into my fabricstash and
started a total makeover.
and it worked! i'm very pleased with it now

also started some new knitting projects..;))

this will be a striped cardi with garter borders
yarn. fortissima alpaka in gray and trekking pro natura in mustard, both sockyarns i had in my stash
needles. 3 mm (am i mad?, a whole cardi on such small needles?!!)

swatched for another cardi

pattern. forestry by veronik avery,
i did this before and i like my forestry that much that
i'm going for another one
yarn. wollness uni by austermann
needles. 3.5 mm and 4 mm

....................
got a new storage for some part of my sewing stuff

a lunchbox!
so cool!!

have a good day
hopefully my days will get better

isa k.
