umbrellas

now the time has come to show this beauty i testknitted
for Joji in early march
was my first real fair-isle project
and it was a hard experience for me - slow going (hahaha)
i'm not used to knit slow....
had to swatch several times to achieve correct gauge
with the yarn i had in my mind
but all in one it's one of the cutest sweaters i made

pattern. umbrellas by Joji Locatelli
also available as a part of her april showers collection
yarn. merino/acrylic (90/10) sockyarn weight from unlabled cone

hope to find some more time to post next weekend...
will be the first weekend at home (not at work) of the last 4 weeks

hugs,
isa k.

  2. Beautiful! I'm wondering if you made any modifications to the neckline, as it seems that yours is a little bit more boat-neck like. I like that look a lot more. I just bought the pattern and would be interested in knowing how/if you modified it!

    1. maybe it's because I used the larger needles for the garterband?!
I overread the instruction to use the smaller needles for the garter section
      when I restarted the sweater....

  7. I totally agree with you - it's a lovely sweater. And you have been brilliant at the fair isle knitting. One wouldn't know that it's your first go at it, if you hadn't told us so. :))
